King Herod was scared.
In fact he was terrified.
"The magi are here."
"Wait! Where are the magi?"
"They’re waiting outside"
"Let me guess, staring at the sky?"
"I think they’re from the east"
"Yeah, they’re priests of Zoroaster;
These men are very wise."
"I think its about the Christ,
The one the prophets foretold."
"And you believe that nonsense?"
"The people do, my lord, that’s all."
"Get those men and let them in.
I need to know what they know.
Theres only one king of Judea
And I’m not sharing my throne."
The wise men enter
Saying, "We’ve got gifts for the king."
"I appreciate the kindness gentlemen,"
Herod says with a grin.
But the magi interject with a laugh
"No, my lord, you misunderstand.
This isn’t for you.
It's for the king of the Jews
Who's just been born in Bethlehem:
King David’s Holy Land."
"Oh a new king?"
Herod says plotting in his head
"Do you think you could lead me to him?"
Cause as soon as you do
That new king will be dead
The wise men could see
In his eyes
That Herod couldn’t be trusted
So politely they lied
And said they’d return
As soon as they knew something
But they never said a word
They were warned in a dream
The same that told Joseph
Take the baby and flee
But not before they got the chance
To give their gifts to the king
They brought
Gold, franckincense, and myrrh
To this nativity scene.
Blessed be her
From whose womb you emerged
We shall call you "Emmanuel"
You’re Proof that God’s here on earth
