What can these words do?

Are they harmful or do they help?

Ask Dante following Virgil

Through the 9th circle out of Hell

Take care that Shakespeare

Made King Lear fear for his daughters

They appeared on Ilium’s shores

Greek ships spread across the waters

There to storm the walls of Troy

You going out tonight?

Well, don’t forget the Trojans

I think we’ve lost the plot

My voice is hoarse from yelling (a lot)

Over the music: a hellish omen from God:

The drums of war are beating

And feeding on the youth

They tell us “This one’s necessary”

But they never tell the truth

It’s just people are very

Gullible and want to believe

Their leaders are good (somehow)

But they should know by now

They’re leaders are clowns

Controlled by the truly powerful

The one’s looking down on us

Who see us as mutts

Ne’er do well stick in the muds

We’re the asshole

And their the d--- that gets thrust

Sorry for the language

It’s just they f--- us so much

It’s hard to mind my p’s and q’s

Once you’ve broken my trust

Should I return to the allusions

And reference poets again

Homer on Mt. Parnassus

With Virgil and friends

Ask Dante what it’s like there

A place where they don’t have to write

Which sounds like a nightmare

Because writing's my life

I worship the Word

The Word is Jesus Christ

Just ask Dante

What he did with his life
