To be trapped in a cage with the rage of an animal

That hasn’t eaten a thing in days his pain is understandable

I demand you let me out – free – and feed me with attention

Or I swear you’ll hear a prayer about my destroyed potential

My stomach growls I need to eat give me but a morsel

Of your collective force of will to read my stories won’t you

Of course I cordially invite you all into my special portal

Down the rabbit hole where small portions of the proceeds go to

The vortex spins and turns and words fly in the face of

Logic cause it’s magic hypnotic phrases entrance you

With smoke and mirrors and the hero here is fearlessly alone

Waiting for the rabbit to finally climb out of his hole

My ears are back I hear a crack come from up above

I’m afraid if I chase fame then hate will replace love

A white glove reaches down to pull me from this hat

I nibble at its fingers like I’m not ready yet get back

Get back I say – frantically -- to keep the demons at bay

Panicking manically like a man who’s insane

The canvas seems a canopy like a sky full of stars

This can’t be the fantasy this whole thing seems too dark
