From Eden

A trail that’s muddy, covering

Your boots in mud, probably,

Complaining about it constantly,

Your friends can take no more.

So then you try to explain, thoroughly,

That you’re misunderstood, and want to be

As “normal” as everyone else is, the trouble is,

However, you understand a bit a more

Of how the world really works, listening

To your every thought and feeling, answering

Your questions about the world

To the best of its ability; the world

Is your best friend if you let it be, trusting

That feeling in your gut, understanding

That it’s doing what you love, building

Up a following, hand-in-hand around the world.

I love this planet, writing and gazing,

While I’m staring into space, wishing

Upon a star, asking can you hear me God?

I just want to thank you for everything that’s amazing.

The feeling I get, climbing

Up and down my body, seeing

The girl of my dreams for the first time, trying

To settle myself down, deeply inhaling.

The feeling I get, creeping

Up and down my spine, tingling

Through my veins, pumping

My blood in the direction of the organ that’s playing;

It’s music to your ears, harmonizing

With the melody and tempo, falling

To an almost standstill pace, crawling

On its belly, like that devilishly hissing serpent from Eden.
